You are tired after sightseeing, but a delivery app asks for a Korean phone number or refuses your card. Do not buy another SIM immediately. First identify whether the obstacle is account registration, identity verification, payment, restaurant coverage, or the delivery address.
Source check: October 2, 2026. App requirements vary and can change. We have not completed a test purchase or verified that every overseas number and card works. This guide uses published provider information, not a personal ordering story.
A Korean number is not the entire solution
A number that can receive a message, an account that passes identity verification, and a payment method accepted at checkout are separate things. Do not assume a data-only travel eSIM includes calls or SMS. Equally, having a Korean number does not prove a specific delivery account will accept your identity or card.
If an app fails, note the exact stage. “No restaurant at this address” is not an account error. A refused promotional credit is not necessarily a refused ordinary order. Resolving the wrong problem wastes time and can lead to an unnecessary purchase.
A published English-friendly option: Shuttle
Shuttle’s current site advertises English/Korean ordering, card and PayPal payment, and service communities in Seoul, Osan, Pyeongtaek, Daegu, and Busan. That is not nationwide on-demand coverage: enter your real address before deciding there are restaurants available.
The provider’s 2023 account explanation says a Korean phone number is not required to create an account, while verification applies to using credits and coupons. Because this explanation is older, confirm the current checkout requirements rather than treating it as a guarantee for every feature or foreign number. Supply a reachable contact method where requested; the driver still needs a way to coordinate with you.
The official FAQ describes choosing an address, restaurant, and food before checkout. Fees depend on distance, and the provider says app features can be more up to date than its website. Menu prices are set by restaurants. We do not promise the same menu, fee, or delivery time as another app.

Prepare the handover before selecting dinner
- Ask the accommodation’s rule. Does reception accept outside food, or must you meet the driver at the entrance? Do not assume hotel staff will order for you or receive it unattended.
- Use the accommodation’s supplied Korean address. Include the building or hotel name and the agreed meeting point. Do not translate the street name from memory.
- Check the delivery pin. Compare it with the real entrance; a pin inside a large complex may be insufficient.
- Keep contact available. Watch the app and messages. If you cannot receive a call, ask support how delivery coordination works before paying.
- Check the full total. Include food, delivery, and any charges displayed at checkout. Do not assume a promotional discount applies until confirmed.
A useful note is: “Please meet me at the hotel’s main entrance; I will collect the order there.” Use it only after confirming that entrance is accessible and the hotel permits it. Never post room numbers or building access codes in public comments.
If checkout or coverage fails
- No restaurants: verify the address and the current service hours. A covered city does not mean every neighborhood is covered.
- Card declined: check whether an order or charge already exists before retrying. Contact provider support about supported payment rather than cycling through multiple purchases.
- Phone verification blocked: ask which feature requires verification and whether your current account can place an ordinary order.
- No confirmation: check the order page and email before ordering again. Keep any reference for support.
Do not rely on a social-media claim that a different app now accepts all tourist accounts. New features may be limited by rollout, device, account, or payment conditions. A restaurant pickup option, if available, or a nearby takeaway can be the more reliable backup.

Dietary safety does not disappear in translation
A translated menu or “vegetarian” filter is not proof that a meal is safe for a serious allergy. Confirm ingredients, broth, garnishes, and cross-contact with the restaurant. If the delivery channel cannot provide a clear answer, choose another meal. Our dietary needs and ordering guide explains what to ask.
For an in-person alternative, see restaurant reservations and waitlists. Delivery is a different workflow: finish address, contact, payment, and handover checks before assuming dinner is on the way.
What blocked your order? Tell us the app and the stage—not your phone number, card information, or full private address.
